Dr. Bella Huasen is a board-certified Clinical Radiologist with subspecialty interest in vascular interventional radiology at the Royal Preston hospital; U.K. Dr. Huasen is currently undertaking an Interventional Radiology fellowship at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand under Prof Andrew Holden and his team.
Dr. Huasen started her professional career as a plastic surgical trainee in the Mersey Deanery, U.K, before joining Interventional Radiology (IR) and finding her niche in endovascular work. She studied at both Manchester and Edinburgh University for her medical and surgical training. She completed her radiology residency at Royal Preston hospital and later taken up a consultant post as a vascular IR. Dr. Huasen is passionate about Mechanical thrombectomy systems and has designed an international multi-centre trial to identify a simple safe system to be used on patients. She also spends a lot of time improving fistula patient experience and developing better techniques to prolong their dialysis access.
She would like to see more female doctors in IR, and is working closely with IR societies to improve this.
When not working, Dr.Huasen is a keen runner, taking part in many races in support of charity work. Her skiing skills are somewhat debatable!!
