Ms Fiona Unac is an acute care nurse practitioner at Hawke’s Bay District Health Board. She is the first New Zealand nurse practitioner to work across radiology and vascular services. She has a special interest in innovative models of care and the utilisation of interdisciplinary skill mix.
Ms Unac was on the advisory committee for the New Zealand Ministry of Health, Vascular Model of Care project (2015-2017); and is Immediate Past Chair of the Perioperative Nurses College of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation. She served on the International Federation of Perioperative Nurses Board (2014-2016).
She is the recipient of many nursing awards including Hawke’s Bay Nursing Innovation Award (2010); New Zealand Nurses Organisation National Award for Services to Nursing & Midwifery (2013); and the International Council of Nurses, Global Nursing Leadership Institute Alumni (2016).
