Dr Muhammad Azeemuddin is a consultant radiologist and Associate Professor at the department of Radiology Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Karachi, Pakistan. His special areas of interest are Interventional Radiology and Head & Body MRI. In IR his main areas of interest are IR management of HCC, GI hemorrhage and Hepatobiliary interventions.
He got his initial training within Pakistan and then went to Singapore for a fellowship in VIR from Singapore General Hospital in 2001-2002. He also had mini fellowships from Rothschild Hospital Paris and Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston in VIR and Neuroradiology.
Dr Azeemuddin has served in various capacities professionally. He has been the Director of Radiology Residency Program and the Director Neuroradiology Fellowship program at AKUH. He served as the Head of MRI section for few years and currently is the head of IR at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi.
Dr Azeemuddin is a member of several professional organizations, founding member of the Interventional Radiology Society of Pakistan (IRSP) and member of the executive council of the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (APSCVIR). He is the author / co-author of around 60 scientific papers and has delivered multiple invited talks both nationally and internationally.
