Dr Peter Goverde MD is a vascular and endovascular surgeon, senior staff member of the Vascular Clinic ZNA, part of the Hospital Network of Antwerp, Belgium, as well as Co-director of the ZNA Multi-Disclipinary Diabetic Foot Clinic and of the ZNA Chronic Wound Clinic. He also coordinates the surgical training program and vascular fellowship in his hospital. His special interests besides endovascular treatment and vascular procedures; are diabetic foot problems, vascular access surgery, haemo- & biomechanics of the arterial circulation and the development and amelioration of new technologies and techniques.
Dr Goverde has been involved in research, education and clinical assessment related to new medical devices and new approaches in the endovascular field. He developed new techniques for the treatment of aortoiliac (i.e. CERAB & Chimney-CERAB) and femoropoliteal occlusive disease, and has presented these topics widely at national and International conferences. He has also (co-)authored several book chapters and peer-reviewed publications in journals that include, the Journal of Vascular Surgery, European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Journal of Endovascular Therapy, and many others. Furthermore he is taking part in a number of national and international organised studies and is a member of numerous national and international vascular and interventional societies.
