Rob Fitridge

Professor Rob Fitridge is Head of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Royal Adelaide Hospital and Professor of Vascular Surgery at The University of Adelaide. He is also Head of the Multi-Disciplinary Diabetic Foot Service at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He has a long-term interest in the diabetic foot and in wound healing of chronic leg wounds. He is a member of the International Working Group for the Diabetic Foot and also a member of the steering committee of the Global Guidelines for Chronic Limb-threatening Ischaemia.

Rob was Chair of the ANZ Board of Vascular Surgery from 2004-2006, during which time, he led the development of the Vascular curriculum. He was also President of the ANZ Society for Vascular Surgery from 2010-2012 and President of the World Federation of Vascular Societies from 2011-2.

He has published on modelling of outcomes after endovascular aortic  aneurysm surgery.  He has also worked on iliac artery morphology analysis. He is also interested in wound healing and improving outcomes in the diabetic foot.

He was recently Basic Science Section Editor for the Oxford Textbook of Vascular Surgery.
