Susan (Sue) Sedory, M.A., CAE, is the Executive Director of the Society of Interventional Radiology. SIR, a 501(c)(6) professional association, and its Foundation, a 501(c)(3) research and fundraising organization, support more than 7,300 Interventional Radiologists and associated professionals, with a staff of over 40 and a combined annual budget of over $11 million. Ms. Sedory (formerly Sedory Holzer) also serves as the CEO of the SIR Foundation and the Treasurer of the IVC Filter Study Group Foundation. In less than seven years, she has led the organization through numerous strategic change initiatives and a period of unprecedented growth to deliver member value and strengthen the profession of Interventional radiology globally.
Prior to joining SIR, Sue was Chief Strategy Officer for the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery. She started her career as a research speech pathologist at the National Institutes for Health (NIH) and a health services researcher with The MEDSTAT Group.
Ms. Sedory holds a Master's Degree in Speech Science from the University of Maryland, and has authored or presented more than 50 peer-reviewed papers. She received her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2008.
