William Poon

Consultant Radiologist, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hong Kong

Dr. Poon Wai Lun obtained his MBBS degree with honour from the University of Hong Kong in 1995.  After obtaining the MRCP (UK) in 1998, he joined Tuen Mun Hospital and started his Radiology training.  He became a Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Radiologists (HKCR) in 2004.  He spent his Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology training period at Bicetre Hospital, France, under late Professor Pierre Lasjaunias, and at Toronto Western Hospital under Professor Karl terBrugge.  Apart from this, he also learnt his interventional skills in the treatment of vascular malformations from Dr Wayne Yakes and Dr YS Do.

Dr Poon is now Consultant Radiologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.  His field of interest is Neuroradiology and Interventional Radiology, particularly in the management of vascular malformations.

Dr Poon has varies publications in peer-reviewed journals and has been invited speaker in different local and oversea scientific meetings.  He is the invited reviewer for the Journal of Hong Kong College of Radiologists and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology.  He is a council member of the Hong Kong College of Radiologist (HKCR) and Hong Kong Society of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (HKSITN).
